Improving strategic performance

Southern Food Service wanted to understand the drivers of their performance to ensure they could maintain strong growth as their workforce scaled.

What we did:

We worked with Southern Food Service to analyse and understand their operations in order to identify focus areas that the team could further develop, including:

  • Reviewed internal metrics and artefacts, and conducted 1:1 interviews with key staff to understand processes, rhythms, rituals and adherence

  • Developed a comprehensive diagnostic report to identify priority actions

  • Facilitated an Action Planning Workshop with the team, to design a way forward togetherWith a higher volume of sales post-covid and a rapidly growing workforce, the client was observing higher rates of inventory shrinkage (errors in stock levels), representing a notable net loss to the company and poor customer and employee experience.

The result:

Three priority areas were identified and the team agreed on new processes and accountabilities that they would lead through to implementation.

Six months on, they have seen an uplift in performance in the focus areas identified. The leadership team have implemented a series of initiatives based on the Action Planning Workshop to further grow rhythms and rituals, with staff engagement visibly increasing.
